Freebitcoins.com Hits 10,000 Users in First Week, Announces SXSW Open House

“Bitcoin can seem complicated for new users,” said Gilkey. “We make it as easy as entering an email address.”

The new bitcoin website freebitcoins.com earned its 10,000th user March 1, just seven days after the website went live.

The company is giving away bitcoins to the first million visitors to the site in a groundbreaking effort to introduce the increasingly popular currency to those who want to own bitcoins at no cost whatsoever.

By reaching the 10,000 user mark, the site is now one percent closer to its goal.

The Austin-based company also announced that it will hold an open house during #SXSW on March 18. Those interested can come meet the freebitcoins.com team and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

“We want to meet our users and give them the opportunity to meet us,” said Lukas Gilkey (@freebiebitcoins), founder of freebitcoins.com. “A lot of bitcoin companies shy away from people showing up on their doorstep, but we encourage it. We’re big advocates of transparency, and what better way to meet than over a beer during South by Southwest.”

The open house will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the company’s office at 5806 Mesa Drive, Suite 375 in Austin.

Freebitcoins.com gives away bitcoins in an effort to grow the bitcoin user base and makes getting started using bitcoin easy.

Those interested simply visit the website and enter an email address to immediately receive bitcoins. There are no strings attached, and nothing to purchase on the website whatsoever.

What’s more is that each user will continue to receive bitcoins every single day by simply visiting the site using the unique link received via email.

The site gives each user anywhere from fractions of a bitcoin up to an entire bitcoin, currently worth more than $200, each day.

All users have to do is visit the website.

The site is developing additional ways for users to get even more daily, and as the website is enhanced, users will have multiple ways of receiving daily bitcoins and sharing the cryptocurrency with their friends, which is the goal.

“Bitcoin can seem complicated for new users,” said Gilkey. “We make it as easy as entering an email address.”

So what’s the catch? There is no catch. Just no-cost bitcoins for a million people.
