NeedTo Becomes First Local Service Marketplace to Accept Bitcoin

Austin-based startup, NeedTo, announced today that it will now accept Bitcoin as a payment option for businesses and individuals who outsource projects through its innovative social helping platform. With NeedTo, users can pay for everything from yard work to legal help using Bitcoin.

NeedTo is a local social helping online platform that allows users to post needs and members of the community to fulfill those needs by responding to requests for short- or long-term job opportunities. As a one-stop shop for outsourcing needs, members can seek help for nearly any project or need, including hiring a tutor to finding an independent contractor to remodel a house. NeedTo’s goal is to connect workers to jobs needed in their local communities, thereby improving the local economy and easing the burden of unemployment.

By adopting Bitcoin as a payment option, NeedTo has effectively joined the global e-commerce marketplace, making finding and paying for independent contractors easier than ever. Bitcoin is a currency that allows users to purchase merchandise without transaction fees or bank oversight. Bitcoin has grown in popularity among consumers because of its low cost and ease of use. NeedTo is the first local service marketplace to accept Bitcoin.

“People thought we were ahead of our time when we revolutionized the service marketplace by creating an open service platform where workers come to you, so allowing Bitcoin was right up our alley,” said Wade Floyd, CEO, NeedTo. Floyd believes that by accepting Bitcoin, consumers can more easily pay for everyday services.

NeedTo

NeedTo has connected more than $704,985 worth of jobs to date. Its mission is simple: NeedTo provides a platform for people to find work, and offers small businesses and individuals access to a reliable workforce.
