In late April we learned that Europe was slated to receive its first bitcoin center of sorts with the advent of La Maison du Bitcoin, or the House of Bitcoin, in Paris. Today - as planned - the center has opened. Located in the heart of the city (specifically 35 Rue du Caire), the center's overall objective is to kickstart the crypto-currency movement in France. To do this, La Maison will be host to a number of bitcoin meetups and other events. Another of America's major cities will now have its own Bitcoin Center, opening today in Chicago after an announcement at the Inside Bitcoins Conference happening there now. The effort is funded in part by Tally Capital, a local venture capital firm that sees the potential of block chain technology. New York City's own Bitcoin Center NYC is looking to explore new frontiers. The Center, which often holds live trading and other cryptocurrency events announced Thursday plans to "help fund, manage, and cultivate momentum for Bitcoin related startups."
