Hive, the creators of an open-source wallet for Mac OS X, are looking for developers to contribute to the company's expansion. Review of Hive Web - A Bitcoin Multi-Currency Web Wallet

Hive Web is a cross-platform, multi-currency wallet. This isn't the first time CCN has talked about Hive. A few months ago, CCN covered Hive's gorgeous OS X app and interviewed one of the developers. The Hive team is known for prioritising usability and simplicity, which is highly important considering that most people still don't entirely understand Bitcoin. While Hive has native clients for OS X and Android, it seems the developers wanted to streamline the entire experience by creating a cross-platform, multi-currency web wallet. An Interview with Wendell Davis from Hive Wallet

Hive is beautiful and simple. Hive (sometimes stylised as “hive”) is perhaps the most beautiful and user-friendly Bitcoin wallet to date. Hive CEO Wendell Davis told CoinDesk his company started working on Hive's HTML5 wallet in February after Apple removed all wallet apps with bitcoin sending functionality on iOS. "The original idea was that we couldn't make an iOS app. So let's make really nice, native feeling....

The Bitcoin wallet Hive is no longer being actively developed. In fact, the creator says that the wallet hasn't had much development in "over a year." Users are told by the wallet’s founder to move their active seeds over to a compatible wallet provider such as Bread Wallet or Mycelium. Hive Wallet Founder, Wendell Davis: Davis added that he's sorry he didn't inform people earlier. The first issue brought to the public via r/bitcoin forums was by a user having trouble logging in to his wallet. The user then went to Hives webpage, which he describes as acting somewhat quirky, but still....

Hive Launches Android Bitcoin Wallet with Built-In App Store

Hive, a geographically distributed startup that builds bitcoin wallets, launched a beta version of its Android wallet app today. Jan Vornberger, lead developer of the app, said that the company's product has key differences that will make it stand out in the crowded Android marketplace. One of those features is the ability to host third-party bitcoin applications within the wallet - effectively, a Hive app store. Vornberger told CoinDesk: "I would say it's our app platform, which makes Hive extensible, [is the big differentiator]." Simple interface. Hive focused on offering a very user....
