The Results of the Third USMS Bitcoin Auction are "Half-In"
The third US Marshals Service bitcoin auction has come to a close, but the results are only "half-in." Basically, three winners have emerged from the auction, but after all this waiting no one is revealing their names. The winners are not coming forward to introduce themselves to the public and according to USMS spokesperson Lynzey Donahue, the US Marshals Service are unable to reveal their identities unless they receive specific permission: "We only confirmed winners' names in the past if they voluntarily came forward." SecondMarket and Bitcoin Investment Trust CEO Barry Silbert has released some decently interesting information this Saturday afternoon relating to Friday's bitcoin auction held by the United States Marshals Service. To be clear, the results were not that of the auction itself, but the syndicate that Silbert formed shortly after the USMS announced the auction a couple of weeks ago. New York-based bitcoin exchange itBit has revealed it successfully secured five auction blocks as part of last week's bitcoin auction overseen by the US Marshals Service (USMS). The event saw the government agency oversee the sale of 44,000 BTC (valued at $16.6m at press time) on the open market, with each auction block consisting of 2,000 BTC or more.
