Number of Bitcoin Unlimited Nodes Surpasses The 700 Mark

With over 700 BU-compatible nodes in existence right now, things get very interesting. The ongoing “competition” between Unlimited and Core nodes remains quite intriguing to keep an eye on. Over the past few days, the number of Unlimited compatible nodes has increased to 736. Quite a significant number, even though it includes some nodes that other platforms may not see as “compatible”. It is evident the Bitcoin Unlimited support continues to grow. More progress is needed to address bitcoin’s scalability in the near future. While additional support for Bitcoin Unlimited may not solve any....

Bitcoin Unlimited Node Count Reaches All-time High

The bigger question is how things will evolve from here on out. Bitcoin Core's SegWit adoption seems to have stagnated, even though a few more companies pledged support for this block scaling solution. Bitcoin nodes are an integral part of the network, as they allow for transactions to be broadcasted to other users all over the world. With the ongoing “issues” between Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Unlimited, it is always interesting to keep an eye on their individual node counts. Bitcoin Unlimited Mining Pool ICO Only Accepts ETC Investments

Support for Bitcoin Unlimited continues to grow, even though some of the employed methods raise questions. Project XBTC will host their ICO to fund a new bitcoin mining operation. The primary objective of this new pool is to signal Bitcoin Unlimited support. A total of 21 million XBTC tokens will be issued, all of which can only be paid for with Ethereum Classic. The new grassroots client has been gaining increasing support with ViaBTC, an open Bitcoin Unlimited pool, rising to 12% of the network hashrate in the past 24 hours, up....

Bitcoin Unlimited Adoption May Lead To Network Centralization

The crux of the problem with Bitcoin Unlimited is that the economic majority is making the decisions, including the decision of who gets to be a part of the economic majority (by increasing the cost of participation). Ever since Bitcoin Unlimited gained traction, there has been substantial debate regarding this solution. If all network nodes would be able to select their block size, an interesting future is created. However, this idea poses a set of new problems that need to be addressed in the future. Some people even speculate Bitcoin Unlimited would eventually lead to centralization.....
