Prominent litigator Christopher B. Hopkins joins the West Palm Beach office of McDonald Hopkins

Christopher B. Hopkins has been elected a member at McDonald Hopkins LLC, a business advisory and advocacy law firm with an 85-year history. Based in the firm's West Palm Beach office, Hopkins is joining McDonald Hopkins' national Litigation department.

Formerly a partner at Akerman LLP, Hopkins has extensive trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts throughout Florida in the areas of commercial, construction, malpractice, and probate litigation.  Beyond the courtroom, Hopkins has expertise in a wide range of emerging technologies, such as app development, bitcoin/virtual currency regulation, cloud computing, drones, e-discovery and retention, drafting end user license agreements (EULA), Internet crimes, data privacy, social media discovery/policy writing, and web contracts.

A Florida man was reportedly robbed at knifepoint during a sale of $28,000 in bitcoin this week. Police Arrest Suspect in Bitcoin Exchange Scheme

Police arrested Michael Murgio in Palm Beach, Fla. for participating in a scheme to pay bribes to allow the Coin.mx bitcoin exchange gain control of a New Jersey credit union, according to Fortune. Prosecutors claim the scheme stole information on 100 million people. Murgio, 65, who serves on a Palm Beach County, Fla. school board, was indicted in a federal court in Manhattan. He was indicted along with three others, including his son, Anthony Murgio. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Murgio Thursday in Palm Beach, Fla.
