National Bitcoin Experts, NC Banking Commission to Hold Joint Regulatory Panel on North Carolina Legislative Proposals

The national president of the Washington-based Chamber of Digital Commerce, Perianne Boring, is one of several Bitcoin experts slated to speak at a panel being held at the NC Triangle Bitcoin and Business Meetup at RTP's 'The Frontier' on the first of September.

Additional speakers include government relations professionals, Representatives from the N.C. Office of the Commissioner of Banks, blockchain technology developers, and local business owners that regularly work with Bitcoin blockchain technology.

"With Bitcoin being such a transformational technology, it is important that North Carolina regulators step back and take a focused and studied approach with Bitcoin and the issue of money transmission," said Bill Warner, a local angel investor and founder of EntreDot.

"We hope this panel will trigger a thoughtful dialogue among all parties - businesses, legislators, investors, and the developers behind this profound technological breakthrough."

North Carolina Senate Committee Advances Bitcoin Bill

A legislative bill that would cover bitcoin and digital currency related business activities has advanced in the North Carolina Senate. According to the The Associated Press, the Senate Commerce Committee gave its stamp of approval to SB 680, which was originally filed in March.
