Storj Labs Inc. today announced that the second round of Storj network testing, styled “Test Group B,” has reached 1PB of managed storage space. Test Group B is an in-depth test of the storage client DriveShare, and the file auditing protocol. It will also gather information on participant capacities and uptime. The testing round launched on August 25th, and currently includes over 200 participants.
In recognition of the community involvement required to reach this milestone, Storj Labs has increased the testing rewards pool from 100,000 Storjcoin X (SJCX), to 1,000,000 SJCX (approximately 71 BTC at time of writing). These rewards will be distributed to new and existing test group participants over the coming weeks. Test Group B is scheduled to run until late October.
“We’re extremely pleased by the support and validation we’ve received from our community,” said CEO Shawn Wilkinson,
“and we’re excited to release the world’s first crowdsourced cloud storage platform.”
