"This whole thing is so bananas." So says American documentary maker Morgan Spurlock in an early scene from an upcoming episode of CNN's Inside Man that focuses on bitcoin. During the show, Spurlock buys bitcoin at the New York City Bitcoin Center, helps set up new machines at a bitcoin mine and visits now-defunct Silk Road 2.0 black marketplace to purchase a fake Rolex. A new investment fund is seeking to raise as much as $100m over the next two years to fuel investments in the blockchain space. Founded by financial technology consultant Chris Skinner and Singapore-based venture capital firm Life.Sreda, the Banking on Blockchain Fund is hoping to raise $50m by year's end, with an additional $50m to be raised by the end of 2017.
