Bitcoin Market Wrap Up 5/31-6/7: BTC Slippage Ccontinues, Vertcoin Leads the Pack

Over the last week, Bitcoin has continued to experience price slippage after briefly hitting a peak of $233 early in the week. From the peak, however, things went downhill. The price dipped to a low of $221 — a 5% drop. For the rest of the week, the price fluctuated between $225 and $223, aside from a brief bull run to $232. Through all the volatility, however, Bitcoin only dropped in value by 2.9%, much less drastic than last week’s 4.25% drop. Bitcoin news was mostly positive this week, so market trends do not seem to be influenced linearly by outside elements.

Vertcoin Versus Dogecoin

Vertcoin has been gaining momentum since my last article, "Vertcoin Most 'Active' Coin" was written. Hopefully, that indicates that the method of analysis used has some merit. Meanwhile Dogecoins performance has been rather lackadaisical either indicating a loss of meme....

Vertcoin Developer Paul Bradley Talks Zerocoin, ASIC Resistance, and More

Vertcoin does not think Zerocoin implementation would be a good move. Over the past few weeks, there have been rumors that Vertcoin could soon implement a variation of Zerocoin to enhance privacy and anonymity in this particular cryptocurrency. I recently talked with Paul Bradley, one of the developers of Vertcoin, to clear the air on what kinds of features we are going to see added to Vertcoin in the near future. While Bradley stated Zerocoin implementation is probably off the table due to the negatives outweighing the positives, there are are still a few privacy-enhancing features that....

Vertcoin: Interview with Dev about upcoming POW change!

If you didn’t know already, Vertcoin is an ASIC-resistant coin, one of the first coins I found out about andwrote about. Below is a short video explaining stealth addresses more in-depth. Vertcoin aims to be the cryptocurrency of choice for personal and business use. We were the first to offer Stealth Addresses protecting everyone’s right to privacy on the blockchain. We believe this to be a much....

Vertcoin Going Vertical

Vertcoin (VTC) has been rising quickly over the past few days, a time when most major coins and alts have been flat. Earlier today Vertcoin was up roughly 325% over 24 hours, based on CoinMarketCap's stats. This brought its market cap over the $4 million mark and saw it reach 14th position in the rankings of mineable coins. Not bad for a Litecoin fork released on the 8th of January 2014. Before dismissing Vertcoin as just the latest pump and dump, it's worth noting that it does have an active development team, engaged community and - most importantly - at....
