WIRED Magazine Talks Bitcoin, Earns First Full-Page Ad From CloudHashing.com

WIRED magazine has wooed many a new tech businesses in its storied history, but their April issue is a Bitcoin blockbuster with ad buys never before seen.

Leading Bitcoin mining company CloudHashing.com contributed a full-page ad for the Bitcoin issue which is the first full-page Bitcoin ad in a major publication, further demonstrating Bitcoin’s rise in popularity and mainstream acceptance.

Bitcoin has reached the tipping point of mainstream understanding, and the expensive ad buy demonstrates that Bitcoin companies are willing to put their money where their mouths are.

“WIRED is exactly the place we want to be,” said Benjamin Gorlick, chief operating officer for CloudHashing.com.

“WIRED readers aren’t intimidated by new technology. They want to understand it and interact with it. CloudHashing.com’s advertisement is a business card saying ‘check us out’.”

The ad itself is a cartoon parody of some of the ridiculous ways people have tried to earn Bitcoin. It juxtapositions the hard way with the easy way to get Bitcoin via CloudHashing.com’s service.

“Look, it’s tongue in cheek. It’s a cartoon,” said Lukas Gilkey, director of business development for CloudHashing.com.

“But it’s important, especially as Bitcoin becomes mainstream, that we educate people that there are legitimate companies who offer a solid way to get into Bitcoin, like CloudHashing.com, and then there’s the Craigslist/Backpage, under the table ways, which we hope everyone avoids.”

The groundbreaking full-page ad will also run in the online distribution, and CloudHashing.com plans more mainstream ads in the future.

CloudHashing.com's WIRED announcement comes on the heels of being featured in the New York Times article "Into the Bitcoin Mines" and in Data Center Knowledge "As Bitcoin Infrastructure Booms, Mining Heads to the Data Center"

In December, I called CloudHashing to see how much....

Once upon a time, Wired magazine was a synonym of cutting-edge-technologic culture. Their name carried weight. Their journalism was a sight to behold.
