Bitfilm to Crowdfund Feature Film “Satoshi’s Last Will” through Max Keiser’s Startjoin.com

The world's first feature-length feature film will start its crowdfunding campaign on August through Max Keiser's Startjoin.com. Max Keiser himself will play an "evil banker" in the film.

Crowdfunding for the world’s first feature-length fiction film set in world ruled by Bitcoin and blockchain technology starts on August 25th.

While following a thriller plot full of action and suspense, the viewers of this film will playfully learn a lot about Bitcoin. They will experience a world in which governments and banks have lost their power, people live together in decentralized, voluntary communities and blockchain technology has changed the way humans interact.

“There are several good documentaries about Bitcoin”, says the film’s producer Aaron Koenig from Bitfilm. “But not many people watch documentaries. In order to have a significant impact on mainstream culture, one has to tell a compelling story that fascinates people.”

The crowdfunding campaign will be supported by Max Keiser’s new platform Startjoin.com, which accepts several digital currencies as well as fiat money via PayPal. The project will be featured in the new episode of Max Keiser’s show “Crowdfactor”. While interviewing Aaron Koenig, he applied to play the role of an “evil banker” in the film.

“Max Keiser is perfect to play a villain”, says Aaron Koenig. “We are still working on the script, so I am sure we will find a good role for him”.

The first round of crowdfunding of 80,000 US Dollars will be used for finishing the script, for casting and for production design. The total estimated budget of the film is 2 million dollars.

“We will shoot most of the film in Argentina, where the level of professionalism is high, while prices are relatively low”, Aaron explains. “A cinema film which shows the potential of Bitcoin and blockchain technology to a mainstream audience can help to improve Bitcoin’s public image. So I hope that everybody who loves Bitcoin chips in some coins. I think it will also be a good investment, as lots of positive mainstream media coverage can help to increase the Bitcoin price. Our ultimate goal is to reach a major breakthrough for Bitcoin.”

Rewards for supporters include tickets and t-shirts as well as Trezor hardware wallets and Bitcoin gold rings for people who invest higher amounts. Companies can get sponsorships and product placements.

Satoshi’s Last Will is powered by Genesis Mining and Satoshi Labs.
