San Francisco-based Coinbase announced Wednesday the launch of a new project called Toshi (most likely after Satoshi Nakamoto, bitcoin's creator). Privacy software provider WhisperSystems has announced that it is integrating bitcoin with open-source code hosting site GitHub to launch a new service, Bithub. This service will offer the company's developers an easy and fair way to fund their work on its open-source security systems. Autonomous financing project String Labs has announced a program to award grants to developers working with Ethereum. As part of the effort to seed open blockchain finance projects – permissioned ledgers need not apply – the California-based company will award an unspecified number of grants, ranging between $2,000 and $10,000.
