BIPS to Offer 40,000 Merchants Using Bigcommerce the Option to Accept Payments in Bitcoin

As of today, any merchant using the Bigcommerce platform will be able to start accepting Bitcoin through BIPS almost immediately simply by creating a BIPS account and adding their BIPS and bank account information to their Bigcommerce profile - no additional setup, installation or coding required.

Although not nearly all 40,000 Bigcommerce merchants are expected to start accepting Bitcoin as soon as the option becomes available, this seamless integration will dramatically lower the entry barrier for merchants potentially interested in accepting Bitcoin.

Many merchants today have no problem with accepting Bitcoin, but simply do not have time to set up a solution, even with the pre-made invoice pages and developer-friendly APIs that Bitcoin payment processors like BIPS provide. Now, however, if a merchant is building their online store on the Bigcommerce platform, they will be able to start accepting Bitcoin in nothing more than the couple of minutes it takes to follow the steps to go through integration process.

By accepting Bitcoin, merchants will be able to enjoy all of the benefits that the innovative cryptocurrency offers, including lower fees, no risk of chargebacks, the potential for increased privacy for customers and the ability to accept payments from over 190 countries around the world.

BIPS provides a carrier-grade technical platform that enables merchants to accept Bitcoin with minimal effort and without having to deal with the difficulties of running complicated software on their own server. BIPS signature feature is that it gives merchants the option of having their Bitcoin revenue immediately converted to any of over 160 local currencies around the world, and transferred to the merchant bank account at the end of each day, thereby avoid volatility and recognize revenues in their own currency.

“Our company mission is to provide a comprehensive carrier-grade technical platform that enables our merchants to receive cryptocurrencies as payments for their products and services online.“ says Kris Henriksen, Founder and CEO of BIPS.
