Lemon Wallet Acquired by LifeLock for $42.6 Million

Identity theft protection company LifeLock has acquired Lemon Inc, creator of an innovative digital wallet, for $42.6m. Lemon Wallet launched in 2012 with the aim of "delivering the most consumer focused, secure and innovative digital wallet experience on the market". The app was initially designed as a backup of a physical wallet, but it went on to develop more and more useful features, with users being able access real time account balances and fraud alerts. Ross Ulbricht Defense Files Reply in Court Appeal, Disputes Fairness of Trial

Ross Ulbricht’s legal defense filed a reply to the government as part of his appeal this week. On behalf of Ulbricht, who was sentenced to double life in prison without parole for operating the Silk Road dark marketplace under the alias Dread Pirate Roberts (DPR) more than a year ago, attorney Joshua Dratel disputes the fairness of the trial. Judge Orders Mark Karpeles to Submit to Questioning in US

Mark Karpeles, the CEO of troubled Japan-based bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox, must travel to Dallas, Texas, this month to take part in his formal deposition, a form of sworn testimony that will lay the groundwork for his future defense. Karpeles had previously suggested that the deposition take place in Taipei, Taiwan, though this motion was strongly opposed by lawyers representing US-based former exchange users.
