Dark Wallet, Settling in

With the precision of Occupy Wall Street, the Dark Wallet symposium assembled in a cold social center near the center of Milan. People trickled in from this country and that with no specific expectation. A dozen or so cultures represented, all present with the purpose of delivering tools to the people. Dark Wallet is not about the antithesis of anything, rather the embracing of an ethos. One might think of a trip to illustrious Milan would entail fashion, flare and fame, but the MACAO social center was as far removed from those ideals as I was from home. Living in a squat definitely lacks....

Dark Wallet Alpha Released

May Day, May Day, it's about to get dark. Dark Wallet (Alpha), the bitcoin wallet software that uses the power of encryption and technology of CoinJoin, came out today. The legality of coin mixing services is still unclear, and the fact that some coin mixing services go by names like 'The Bitcoin Laundry' and 'BitLaundry' does not bode well in the regulatory spotlight. Although, one can argue the right to financial privacy because bitcoin is only pseudo-anonymous. I took my questions to computer security expert, Kristov Atlas, author of Anonymous Bitcoin, to see what he thought. "You've....

Decentralized Crowdfunding App Lighthouse Raises 1 BTC for Dark Wallet

As a part of a demo campaign, decentralized crowdfunding application Lighthouse recently raised 1 BTC for the Dark Wallet Fundraiser. The platform's chief developer Mike Hearn & team started hosting this project less than a month back. Being a new company, the fundraiser initiator - codename BashCo - simply wanted to test Lighthouse out before moving further with bigger fundraising campaigns for Dark Wallet. This clearly explains why the target was kept such low as 1 BTC. Upon finalizing Round I, BashCo mentioned a minor hiccup he faced in the pledging system, which was later found to have....
