NYU Hackathon Heralds New Generation of Bitcoin Apps

The Blockchain team with prize winners at the NYU hackathon. A bitcoin-themed hackathon held at New York University (NYU) over the weekend hinted at the kinds of applications new developers are creating, showcasing everything from new games to shopping research and trading tools. The two-day event, titled HackBit, culminated in eight teams pitching their ideas to a panel of judges. Each team had three minutes of presentation time, followed by two minutes of questions. Startup Accelerator Boost VC Hosting Silicon Valley Bitcoin Hackathon

Boost VC, the first startup accelerator to accept bitcoin companies in Silicon Valley, will host a bitcoin hackathon to run from 25-27th April. The event will be held at the Boost offices in San Mateo with enough space for 100 participants. Yesterday, September 19, 2015, hundreds of hackers spent the day at Pier 70 in San Francisco working on projects in hopes to win the Disrupt SF Hackathon. In this competition, hackers have to create a fun and creative hack in 24 hours; the grand prize for the competition was $5000 USD, along with two runner-up prizes. Coinbase Announces "BitHack" Hackathon

Popular bitcoin buying/selling house (and wallet service) Coinbase has launched BitHack, an online hackathon that is open to "developers who want to create something great with bitcoin."
