Satoshi Nakamoto is the creator of Bitcoin. He/She/They released the white paper, then released the software, then worked on the software for many years before disapearing after Gavin Andresson informed Satoshi that he was going to speak at the CIA. We haven’t heard from Satoshi since.

There was a brief possible contact when Newsweek falsely identified Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto as Satoshi because they have the same name. Satoshi’s account claimed that he was not Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto. The email account was later hacked. It seems very unlikely that we will hear from Satoshi Nakamoto again.

But because his creation, Bitcoin, has been open sourced, hundreds of developers continue to improve on his work every day. Bitcoin continues, without it’s founder.
