Reddit has removed ads impersonating the Trezor shop, the most recent incident of fake bitcoin websites that scam users. Trezor advertises its bitcoin wallet as a secure home for bitcoin, but that does not prevent scammers from capitalizing on its name for malicious purposes. Reddit has announced that its merchandise store, RedditMarket, is now accepting bitcoin. Coinbase will process users' payments on the platform, which sells a variety of Reddit paraphernalia, including a $142 plush toy of the site's mascot, Shoo. Ryan X Charles has been let go from his post as cryptocurrency engineer on social platform Reddit. The developer, who only this week demonstrated his proof of concept forpeer-to-peer bitcoin payments on the site, announced the news in a Reddit post, saying: 'I have complete confidence in the new leadership, but cryptocurrency is no longer in their plans.'
