Known to many as "Bitcoin Jesus," Bitcoin super-investor and activist Roger Ver has run into major problems recently. Ver famously renounced his United States citizenship in 2014 and was denied a traveling visa this week by U. S. consulate officials. This being his latest attempt to visit Miami to attend an upcoming Bitcoin conference. As reported yesterday, people are already selling their MtGox bitcoins at discounted rates on a new exchange that popped up overnight. Ver made a post on the bitcointalk forum where he stated his interesting in purchasing at least 100 bitcoins from other MtGox users. In that video, he made mention of a conversation with Gox CEO Mark Karpeles, and ultimately noted that he felt the issues then were caused by the traditional banking system. South Korea’s largest credit card company is set to use a blockchain identity solution developed by local bitcoin startup Coinplug. The service will be based on what Coinplug calls FidoChain, a “private blockchain technology” aimed at providing a distributed means of verifying and maintaining digital identities.
