Recently, after the welcoming of two new members to the Bitcoin Foundation, many members were very unhappy; enough to incite the need to make a “post your resignation here” thread. Thread starter Patrick Alexander states that “Reasons are many, but the following are salient” proceeding to list some reasons with the most prominent being many high-class members being associated with scandalous events, i.e., Brock Pierce is being associated with allegedly, pedophilia. A number of Bitcoin Foundation members have canceled their memberships, citing frustration with the latest round of appointments and the 'general direction' of the organisation. Jon Matonis has announced he will resign from his position as executive director of the Bitcoin Foundation, and that he intends to step down from the group's board of directors at the end of his term on 31st December.
