MaskNetwork, the Decentralized Marketplace is Launching the Testnet
MaskNetwork team is excited to announce the alpha release of the open source testnet to the community. This will give people an opportunity to get involved with the project and experiment with MaskNetwork features like multi signatures or integrated escrow system, and gain a better understanding of the technical properties of the MaskNetwork platform. Launching the testnet at this date will give those interested in the fundraiser a chance to better understand what the MaskNetwork project is about before participating.
MaskNetwork project was officially announced in July 2015, and received vocal support from the Bitcoin community, who share our vision for a free and decentralised commerce platform. The project is ambitiously combining several technologies including peer-to-peer networking, decentralised advertising, messaging or the network level escrow system.
Today we have launched the first phase of the project and the testnet includes full support for sending and receiving transactions, addresses security options, messaging and much more. MaskNetwork is the fist cryptocurrency project 100% web-based so you will not have to download anything in order to start testing. A web node is a website that allows you to access all network features like sending transactions or messages. It’s by far the easiest method of using the network. Also running a web node is a great way to spread the word about MaskNetwork and because web node operators can impose a fee on all transactions, running a node is also a great way to make money.
But the best way to learn more about MaskNetwork is to us one of the participant web wallets.
About MaskNetwork
MaskNetwork is a web-based peer-to-peer distributed marketplace / social network that is using an internal currency called MaskCoin (MSK) as a medium of exchange. The network will allow anyone to transact virtual / physical products with no central authority, banks or intermediary entities. It’s a community of people who want to trade without restrictions, intermediaries or huge taxes imposed by well established companies. The network can be accessed by one of the participating web-nodes, using a regular web browser.
The real network is scheduled to be launched in Q2, 2016.
