Robocoin ATM Enters First Day of Service in Vancouver Cafe
Courtesy: @Robocoin, Twitter. Last week I posted about the fact that the Robocoin ATM would be entering service out in the field for the first time in Vancouver. The day has come, and the first Robocoin ATM is now operating inside of a coffee shop. The ATM allows users to transact up to $2,000 USD per day and convert it to Bitcoin and vice-versa. It's an interesting concept, but the true test here will be just how well the machine fares in the future. Will it get much use? Will it often get mistaken for a cash machine? Robocoin has apparently sold more than one, so it's only a matter of....

Courtesy: blog.robocoinkiosk.com. We've been talking quite a bit about the Robocoin bitcoin ATM in a downtown Vancouver cafe. In one day, the ATM saw about $10,000 in transactions - that is, people buying and selling bitcoin. Fast-forward a bit over a week later and you get an equally as impressive number. In the first 8 days of operation, the Robocoin ATM has done about $100,000 in buys and sells, according to a Washington Post report. Eighty percent of the transactions on the Robocoin machine were buys, twenty percent were sells (obviously). Waves Coffee, the cafe in which the first....

When they said that Canada is becoming the place for bitcoin-centric activity, they weren't lying. Amid the slew of bitcoin ATMs (made be several manufacturers) in the country comes another, a Robocoin ATM installed in the country's western coast in Vancouver, according to this post on Reddit. The announcement came from an unnamed representative of the the ATM's operator Thursday evening: "I know this may not be as exciting as the Dish Network acceptance or possibly the acceptance from Ebay and PayPal, but here is one more 2-way Bitcoin ATM for the Vancouver area!" The device is located at....

The last update brought to you by newsBTC on the topic of the Robocoin ATM (the first Bitcoin ATM out in the wild) was that the machine had done $100,000 in transactions in the matter of 8 days. The case now, as one would expect, is different. Reports indicate the Robocoin ATM in downtown Vancouver (at the Waves Coffee House) has processed a whopping $1 million CAD in transactions in 29 days. That amounts to about 1500 buy/sell transactions, in total. The ATM has received a fair bit of attention, particularly by the media for making it incredibly simple to....

Speaking from the launch at Waves Coffee House, where the ATM is located, Robocoin CEO Jordan Kelley said: "It's been a crazy day. I can't even tell you how incredible it is. There's a line in front of the machine right now." Kelley's goal for Robocoin's ATMs is to get bitcoin usage to the masses. "Robocoin has the first bidirectional bitcoin ATM. That means it gives customers the easiest way to buy and sell bitcoins. Signing up for accounts on exchanges is....
