Bitcoin Now Trending on Wikipedia

Well here's the surprise of the century. Not long ago, Bitcoin was trending on Chinese search engine Baidu. And then it was trending on Yahoo. It didn't end there, though. It began to trend on Google, too. But now, the very topic of Bitcoin is trending on Wikipedia (see above image, via Reddit). With over 137,000 views today, it's put in second place right behind Halloween. That's pretty impressive. That makes the cryptocurrency a more popular read than, say, Boston Red Sox, Facebook, and Eminem's new album on the online encyclopedia. Pretty impressive. Oh, and Happy Halloween!

Coiners Wants You To Meet The People Behind Bitcoin And Blockchain

All digital currency community members and companies are invited to submit their articles and contributions to Coiners. Finding out more information about the Bitcoin ecosystem is as easy as looking up the term on Wikipedia. At the same time, not all of this information is up-to-date anymore, although the various contributors try to keep things orderly. But in the end, decentralization is all about steering away from existing platforms such as Wikipedia. Coiners is a new platform acting as an open wiki focusing solely on blockchain and digital currency. As amazing as it is to look up....

Some Bitcoiners are Boycotting Wikipedia Until Wikipedia Accepts Bitcoin Donations

It continually baffles me day after day that Wikipedia, a students' lifesaver and a mainstay in our modern day age, has not started accepting Bitcoin for donations. Bitcoin Blogger recently posted a response received from the Wikimedia Foundation about Bitcoin donation acceptance, the relevant contents of which are shown below, with my own added italicization. The Wikimedia Foundation, as a donor-driven organization, has a fiduciary duty to be responsible and prudent with its money. The Foundation does not currently accept Bitcoin or other currencies not backed by the full faith and credit....
