Some Bitcoiners are Boycotting Wikipedia Until Wikipedia Accepts Bitcoin Donations
It continually baffles me day after day that Wikipedia, a students' lifesaver and a mainstay in our modern day age, has not started accepting Bitcoin for donations. Bitcoin Blogger recently posted a response received from the Wikimedia Foundation about Bitcoin donation acceptance, the relevant contents of which are shown below, with my own added italicization. The Wikimedia Foundation, as a donor-driven organization, has a fiduciary duty to be responsible and prudent with its money. The Wikimeda Foundation, which operates Wikipedia, Wikiquote, and other free resources, has finally started accepting Bitcoin donations.
