Londoner Seeks to Trademark Bitcoin

An East London man, Marvin Dennis, is seeking to trademark the word bitcoin in the United Kingdom. That's according to an application submitted to the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office dated November 5th, 2013. Interestingly, the application has this listed as "Class 30" or "Chocolates, confectionary." We'll let you be the judge and decide just how bitcoin and chocolates go together. A man from London is attempting to trademark the word "Bitcoin" in the United Kingdom. In an application made to the UK's patent office on 5th November, Marvin Dennis of Leyton, East London, is seeking to trademark the term used by Satoshi Nakamoto to describe his cryptocurrency.
