Coinye West has been taken down: by Kanye West himself?
For a few days ago we published the news about the new cryptocurrency called Coinye West. The coin received international attention and had clearly a "to the moon" potential during the initial launch which was supposed to be January 11th 2014. Now, the coin's official twitter account has been removed, and the two subreddits Coinyewest and Coinyemarket has been locked. Even the official site coinyewest.com is now pointing to another domain called coinyeco.in which gives you the image below: The question is: why was the coin taken down? Did the managers or team to Kanye West contact the....

Rapper Kanye West has a love-hate relationship with the internet and he has already been the subject of quite a few memes, some of which were so popular that they were satirized by South Park on more than one occasion. As if Dogecoin was not enough, the flamboyant artist is about to get a digital currency named after him. Coinye West is the name of the new coin and it should go live in eight days. Though we can't fault the design and Coinye is certainly getting plenty of coverage, we are not sure Kanye or his lawyers will be flattered (if South Park is to be believed Kanye hasn't always....

I can't make this stuff up! Read the Scribd filing by Pryor Cashman LLP, Kanye's litigation experts of choice. Always abreast of the newest developments in the Cryptocoin world, CryptoCoinsNews first reported on Coinye on January 2nd, 2014. Shortly thereafter, legal action was taken by Kanye West and his associates at Pryor Cashman LLP, and onJanuary 6th, 2014 CCN reported that the original domain names (which I will refrain from mentioning to avoid the ire of Kanye) as well as Facebook and Twitter accounts had been deleted or altered to redirect to coinyeco.in, an Indian website. It was....
Just days after Chicago rapper Kanye West dispatched his legal team against the creators of the script-based cryptocurrency Coinye, formerly Coinye West, the altcoin's development team has officially folded its launch plans. The announcement was issued via the project's website, which posted the message "COINYE IS DEAD" in bold at the top of its homepage, followed by its admission of defeat: "You win, Kayne." The messages ended the short life of Coinye, which was announced early this January and had recently delayed its launch. West's legal team previously sent the Coinye development team....
Rapper-turned-entrepreneur Kanye West has taken legal action against the creators of Coinye West, a tongue-in-cheek digital currency that was supposed to launch this week. West's lawyers filed a cease-and-desist order against the team of coders who developed Coinye West, claiming trademark infringement. According to the Wall Street Journal, the document was filed on 6th January and it is going after the coders because the design of the coin features a cartoon of West. The documents explains: "Given Mr West's wide-ranging entrepreneurial accomplishments, consumers are likely to mistakenly....
