Scrypt ASIC Race Intensifies, KnCMiner Scores $2 Million in Preorders
KnCMiner announced its first scrypt miner yesterday and today it reported that it already has $2m worth of pre-orders. In fact, all the orders for KnC's Titan models were made in just four hours. The Titan is based on the KnC Jupiter form factor, but it is an entirely different beast, as it's based on a scrypt ASIC rather than a bitcoin ASIC. KnC has not said much about the spec, we still don't know the details, but the company says the Titan can deliver 100MH/s. It is priced at $9,995. According to the International Business Times, KnC plans to build 2,500 miners in its initial production....

Earlier today, KnCMiner updated their website to reveal a Litecoin Mining Hardware tab, right next to their Bitcoin Mining Hardware tab. Under the new tab, KnCMiner reveals information on their newest ASIC miner: The Titan. The Titan is a 100 MH/s Scrypt ASIC that is designed to be used on the Litecoin network. Of course, there are hundreds of other Scrypt-based altcoins that are clones of Litecoin with slightly modded parameters. The Titan can be used to mine on any of those altcoins as well. The Titan costs $9,995 to preorder and shipment is slated for Q2/Q3 of 2014. KnCMiner has also....
Scrypt ASIC Race Towards The Bottom. KnCMiner has promised 250 MH/s for 1000W. This morning, Mining ASICs Technologies (MAT) posted a press release to their website. In it, they announced that their Excalibur 1 (100 MH/s) and their Excalibur 2 (200 MH/s) would be upgraded to Excalibur 3 (125 MH/s) and Excalibur 4 (250 MH/s), respectively. This free upgrade comes on the heels of an eventful week in the competitive world of Scrypt ASIC Mining hardware manufacturing and design. Originally slated for September release, MAT is now confident that their Scrypt ASICs might even start shipping in....
Seven hours ago, KnCMiner took to social media to tweet one simple sentence. So we have updated our performance of our titan product a little. It will now be 250MH/s. The full update can be found at this link. 250 MH/s is a 250% improvement over the previously promised 100 MH/s. The price tag on the KnCMiner Titan remains unchanged despite this “little performance update.” At 250,000 KH/s for the price of $9,995, the $/KH/s (~$0.04/KH/s) is currently unmatched by any other Scrypt ASIC company. The updated Titan product page on KnCMiner’s website is shown below. Also, KnCMiner is....
Innosilicon A2 Terminator Scrypt ASIC. On 4/20/14, Innosilicon announced sales of their A2 Terminator Scrypt ASIC on Bitcointalk and their website. Innosilicon is not a newcomer to the ASIC mining realm, by any means. They have previously completed the design and fabrication, through Global Foundries, of an A1 CoinCraft SHA-256 ASIC chip that was used in many cheap, ready-to-ship miners out of China in recent months. From their A1 chips revenue, Innosilicon was able to manufacture these A2 Terminator Scrypt ASIC chips without crowdfunding through preorders, as many competitors have.....
Yesterday, KnCMiner announced their entrance into the altcoin mining arena with their 100 MH/s Scrypt ASIC. The name they "coined" for their new device was this: The Titan. Despite the lack of power consumption figures for KnCMiner's Titan, hundreds of buyers have already spent over $2 million USD on KnCMiner preorders, according to TechCrunch's John Biggs. Alpha Technology is unfazed. Shortly after KnCMiner's announcement yesterday, they posted a news update to their website promising an update on how Alpha Technology would be "matching competition." Alpha Technology's newest release is....
