The Europas, an annual award show dedicated to rewarding and recognising Europe's hottest tech startups, will feature a "Best Virtual Currency Startup" category for the first time this year. The event was founded by TechCrunch editor-at-large Mike Butcher, and includes more than 20 categories. Bitcoin exchange Bitstamp was named the Best Virtual Currency Startup at the 2014 Europas last night. Blockchain Awards to Honor Bitcoin Leadership at Bitcoin 2014

Blockchain and the Bitcoin Foundation introduced the inaugural Blockchain Awards today. The two organizations will co-host the event to be held on 16th May at the Bitcoin 2014 Conference in Amsterdam.
