Josh Zerlan, VP of Product Development at Butterfly Labs, has provided customers with updates relating to the company's upcoming Monarch bitcoin miner. Dated April 19th, the information came in the form of a forum post in which Mr. Zerlan notes the Kansas-based company continues to test and manufacture the miners: The revision 2 (or revision B) chips have arrived at our testing facility in California. Butterfly Labs claims the Monarch will achieve 600 GH/s and consume 350W. The release has courted controversy with customers who are still awaiting delivery of their longstanding 65nm-based products. Butterfly Labs, makers of specialty Bitcoin-mining machines, just announced the Butterfly Labs Monarch, an insanely powerful new ASIC at CES 2014. Butterfly Labs Resumes Shipping, Sets Timetable for Refunds

Butterfly Labs has resumed shipping its Monarch hardware and issuing bitcoin refunds to select customers. The embattled bitcoin mining company issued a statement earlier this week via its website and redesigned the platform to offer services to customers whose orders have not been fulfilled. The update follows Butterfly Labs' recent legal win against the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on 15th December when a US District Court rejected a request by the FTC for an injunction, asset freeze and appointment of a receiver. Butterfly Labs argued successfully in court yesterday that the order to remain closed had irreparably harmed their company, convincing the Judge to agree to allow them to continue operations under court oversight.
