Japan Welcomes Its First Bitcoin ATM in Suzuka

The Netherlands wasn't the only country to receive a new bitcoin ATM over the past few days. The land of the rising sun - Japan - has also received a bitcoin ATM, its first, according to reports. Unveiled Friday at an event in Suzuka in the northeastern section of the Mie Prefecture, the bitcoin ATM is the product of Las Vegas-based Robocoin. The company's machines are seemingly becoming more and more ubiquitous as the days continue to pass, with kiosks in operation in a number of nations (with another fifty planned shipments by Summer of this year). Japan Gets Its First Robocoin Bitcoin ATM

A Robocoin bitcoin ATM has reached the shores of Japan. The device has reportedly been delivered to 49-year-old Motonori Kan in Suzuka, a city some 200 miles west of Japan's capital, Tokyo. Kan, in preparation for the delivery, obtained a used-goods dealer license and imported the device as a "vending machine", despite the fact it's so much more.
