Bitcoin Trading Platform Vaurum Raises $4 Million in Seed Funding

California-based Vaurum, a company that offers financial institutions a way to trade and store bitcoins, has raised $4m in venture capital. The investment is described as a seed round and comes from a group of investors that includes VC firm Battery Ventures, Tim Draper and former AOL CEO Steve Case. Avish Bhama, Vaurum CEO, said in a prepared statement: "Most investors-even savvy institutions-need an easy-to-use and compliant platform through which to buy and sell bitcoins, and we provide that solution." Vaurum, a startup that offers code that banks and other financial institutions can use to offer Bitcoins, raised a $4 million seed round of funding from venture investor Tim Draper, former AOL CEO Steve Case, Battery Ventures and others. It is raining investments in the digital currency sector. A number of companies have raised millions of dollars in funding in recent days. Case Wallet Inc. also known as CryptoLabs has recently raised another tranche of seed investment of about $750,000 towards its bitcoin wallet business.
