Earlier this week Bitcoin investment firm Pantera Capital announced its participation in the Series A funding round for social tipping startup, ChangeTip. And just last month Coinbase launched its bitcoin tipping button to allow anyone to accept micropayments anywhere on the web. Bitcoin wallet and exchange Coinbase today announced its plan to discontinue its Bitcoin tipping services effective April 1st this year. Bitcoin services provider Coinbase has announced it is shutting down its tip button effective 1st April, citing the traction of competitor ChangeTip. Perhaps most notably, Coinbase will be directing the 10,000 users its service has enrolled to ChangeTip in a bid of industry collaboration. Bitcoin tipping continues to be a popular use case for the famous cryptocurrency. And with the launch of its new “One Time Tip” feature, social bitcoin tipping startup, ChangeTip is looking to make sending value to anyone on the internet even easier.
