Bitcoin Mining Company SFARDS Pushes Powerful Dual Bitcoin and Scrypt ASIC Miner Chip
SFARDS announced they have taped out their 28nm ASIC that will allow miners to mine both SHA-256/Bitcoin and Scrypt coins like Litecoin. The power to gigahash ratio is aggressive according to their press release. They are also shooting for an April release of they miners to both large operations and small miners. SFARDS is a Chinese cryptocurrency mining company, created from the merger between Gridseed and WiiBox. The Gridseed line of miners was very popular starting with the Gridseed 5 chip Orbs then the larger5.2 mh/s Blades. They even jumped up to larger sizes like the Gridseed Black a....

Sfards Website. A new company by the name of Sfards has slowly been making it's rounds in the community as a new mining ASIC manufacturer. The company was formed by joining three companies together, Diginforce, WiiBox, and Gridseed. Despite their name sounding like smelly farts, Sfards states that, "The word 'Sfard' is derived from Latin, and is the self-given name of the ethnic group thought to be the very first users of the coin." The new DualMiner USB miner is one of the first entries of ASIC's into the Scrypt mining domain using the Gridseed, and we here at CCN first reported about these ASICs all the way back in January. Love them or hate them Scrypt ASICs are here. In the case of the DualMiner it an easy to afford and use USB ASIC that also brings a vastly lower watt per kh/s ratio to GPU miner setups. The deal with the DualMiner is it can mine both BitCoin SHA-256 and Scrypt coins (such as LiteCoins) at the same time if desired. With an easy dip switch setting, it will mine Scrypt at nearly double the dual rate....
Sfards recently announced the completion of tape out and now are announcing their testing results. The results look good being that the chip is 28nm and processes both SHA-256 and Scrypt algorithms. Formed from Gridseed and WiiBox, Sfards has the dual miner experience from Gridseed as a base with the controller tech of WiiBox. Depending on the density of each unit they could do very well. Released specs from their testing have revealed some decent performance. Completely New Technology, Optimum Power Efficiency SFARDS’ SF3301 fully utilizes the advantages of the FD-SOI technology. Innosilicon A2 Terminator Scrypt ASIC. On 4/20/14, Innosilicon announced sales of their A2 Terminator Scrypt ASIC on Bitcointalk and their website. Innosilicon is not a newcomer to the ASIC mining realm, by any means. They have previously completed the design and fabrication, through Global Foundries, of an A1 CoinCraft SHA-256 ASIC chip that was used in many cheap, ready-to-ship miners out of China in recent months. From their A1 chips revenue, Innosilicon was able to manufacture these A2 Terminator Scrypt ASIC chips without crowdfunding through preorders, as many competitors have.....
