In this morning's bitcoin price watch piece, we are going to take a look at the levels that proved important overnight, and try and attempt to put together a strategy for today's intraday trading throughout the European session. Its been a lively few days in the bitcoin markets, and with the launch of the NewsBTC Live Trading Room looming, it's a great time to get some volatility. So, with this said, here's what we are watching today, alongside a definition of our risk management parameters for today's session. Bitcoin Price Watch; 800 Breaks!

Here's a look at what we are focusing on in the bitcoin price this morning. We’re heading into the Christmas period in the bitcoin price, and traditionally this is a pretty quiet period in the markets. We’re expecting a pretty similar trend across the crypto space (although there’s obviously some degree of Asian influence that will hold volume up in crypto, unlike in the US financial markets) so we’re not expecting any fireworks near term. With that said, over the weekend, we did finally get some solid momentum, and price ran up and through the 800 mark that we’ve been watching so closely....

Bitcoin Price Watch; The Upside Continues!

Here's a look at what we are focusing on in the bitcoin price this morning. We asked for action in the bitcoin price, and it’s action we got. Things haven’t been this active on the intraday charts for months, and it finally looks like price might make its way through the elusive 700 mark near term. If it does, we expect a considerable upside momentum run as the shorts are squeezed out of the market and price gains on covering. Whatever happens, the action overnight gave us plenty to go at, and we managed to get in and out of the markets according to the rules of our intraday strategy on a....

Bitcoin Price Watch; Looking Long!

Here's the range and targets we are focusing on for our bitcoin price breakout strategy on Wednesday morning. Yesterday was a little up and down in the bitcoin price. We saw a steep upside run early morning (before the European session kicked off for the day) and then a pretty ragged period of consolidation. By the time we published our first price watch analysis (a little bit later than usual) we were well into the consolidatory phase, and looked to set up a framework through which we could get in long if the bullish momentum returned, and things took another turn to the upside. We got a....

Bitcoin Price Watch; The Weekend Ahead

Here's what we are focusing on in the bitcoin price for both this evening and the weekend ahead. It’s that time again – our final bitcoin price analysis of the week. As we mentioned this morning, we have had a pretty up and down week, but today – so far at least – has been relatively flat. Action has remained well within our predefined range, and although we have seen a small amount of upside momentum, the real bitcoin price action (i.e. the breakout action that gives us sustained momentum and decent entries) looks like its going to wait until the weekend. This isn’t a problem, but it....
