Blockchain Panel Draws Capacity Crowd at Finnovasia

A blockchain-focused panel at Finnovasia yesterday drew so many interested FinTech professionals extra chairs needed to be brought into the auditorium. The panel session at the Hong Kong conference centered on how blockchain is changing banking in Asia, with the audience there to hear insights from UBS Asia-Pacific CTO Peter Stephens. CoinSummit Day Two: Mining Superpowers and the 51% Challenge

A significantly thinned out crowd reassembled for the second day of CoinSummit in London today. Those who didn't attend the Swam-sponsored afterparty the previous night - or possessed exceptional powers of post-party rejuvenation - dutifully filed into the glass-walled East Wintergarden. Several panelists informed CoinDesk, and in some cases posted on Twitter, that many libations were consumed the previous night. Ultimately, the crowd came geared up for what promised to be another data-packed series of panel discussions. On 51% attacks, core devs call for miner activism. Day two kicked off....

ANX CTO: Bitcoin's Scalability Issue is a 'Red Herring'

During a talk at Finnovasia 2015 in Hong Kong this week, ANX CTO Hugh Madden told an audience of gathered FinTech professionals that he believes concerns about the bitcoin blockchain's ability to scale are a "red herring". The comments notably follow the two-day Scaling Bitcoin conference at which the open, public blockchain's global development community came together to propose technical issues related to the bitcoin protocol. Madden, who later appeared on a panel conversation centered on the technology's growth in Asia, made the case at the event that despite the level of press time....

Blockchain Tech Leaders Debate Satoshi Mystery and Scaling at Consensus 2016

It has been said that bitcoin is in a crisis as its community attempt to reach consensus on how best to scale the technology to increase its capacity, and the evolving debate was on display at Consensus 2016 today. Perhaps the day's most visible panel was one featuring former Bitcoin Core maintainer Gavin Andresen, who just the night before had revealed he believes he has received proof that Australian cryptographer Craig Wright is bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. As a result, when Andresen joined Ethereum investor Vitalik Buterin; Bitcoin Core developer Eric Lombrozo; and Neha Narula of....
