Spendabit expands support to European Union, enabling product-search for 100+ EU-based, Bitcoin-accepting merchants

Prior to enabling search for the European Union, Spendabit had supported region-specific search for the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Bitcoin product search engine Spendabit has announced the launch of Region Support (i.e., “localized” search) for all of the European Union. This presently includes more than one-hundred merchants from a dozen countries, but will include products from other EU countries as soon as Bitcoin-enabled merchants come online. Prior to enabling search for the European Union, Spendabit had supported region-specific search for the United States,....

Spendabit: Region Support and Update!

When I previously chatted with Spendabit, they were just starting out with about a million items that could be purchased. Things are always growing in the Bitcoin space at a rapid pace, and Spendabit is no different with now more than 2.5 million items indexed. Today I talk with Chris, the CTO and Co-Founder of Spendabit regarding region support and how Spendabit has changed in the last couple of months. Spendabit is, primarily, a “search engine for things you can buy with Bitcoin”. (We may have a few other things cookin’ back here, but for now the “Bitcoin search” label is pretty....

Spendabit: Bitcoin Search Engine!

Now with Bitcoin becoming adopted by more and more companies, people need an easy way to buy products that accept Bitcoin. That way is here, meet Spendabit. I’ve long noticed a lack of quality Bitcoin directories. Traditionally, most of the directories have been sparse and/or outdated. The long-standing “Trade” page at the Bitcoin.it wiki was the best source for quite a while, but it has long since outgrown what one can do with a wiki. And it’s still hard to find a comprehensive list of places to spend your Bitcoins (though the situation has improved a bit on the “brick-n-mortar” side). I....

European Union Presents Project to Fight Counterfeiting by Using NFTs for 2023

The European Union (EU) is working on a project that involves blockchain architecture and the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to fight counterfeiting and forgery. The project is the product of several meetings and blockchain hackathons organized by the European Union Intellectual Property Office and proposes to create digital twins of products to trace their path across supply lines. European Union to Use NFTs to Protect Intellectual Property The European Union has recently announced that is working on a system that will use blockchain and NFTs as part of its fight against the....

European Union Still Lags Behind Where Bitcoin is Concerned

The delay of Bitcoin transactions, on the other hand, is a more likely reason. Bitcoin adoption by merchants and store owners is booming as of late. Particularly in the European Union, things are improving year over year. Even though there is still a lot of work to be done, it appears Central Europe is doing quite well. At the same time, the lack of Bitcoin adoption in Scandinavia is rather disconcerting, and rather difficult to explain. Europe has always been a rather odd region when it comes to financial innovation. Every country has its own set of payment options, yet there is no....

Brexit May Push Bitcoin and FinTech Companies Out from Britain

As Britain plans to exit from the European Union, London-based fintech companies plan to exit Britain. There have been discussions about the United Kingdom exiting from the European Union for a while now. Most of us know that the European Union is not doing that great when it comes to the economy. Many EU countries have been suffering from economic slowdown for years. Greece has been in financial ruins for years now, France is not doing so good either, Germany, Netherlands and rest of the Europe are affected by the counter-sanctions imposed by the Russian Federation. The United Kingdom has....
