What is Zcash Worth? As Price Tops $1,000 Traders Remain Unsure

Days after the launch of Zcash, the cryptocurrency markets are still attempting to value the newly released digital currency (ZEC). While 1 ZEC is trading at roughly twice the price of bitcoin (1 ZEC was worth 1.91 BTC, or $1,388, at press time), this means movements have calmed since tumultuous early trading sessions. But with limited supply and high demand still propping up prices, digital currency traders largely say Zcash has a long way to go before it becomes less of a speculative investment. Is Zcash Giving Investors Mixed Signals?

Zcash has been giving investors some relatively mixed signals, making crypto-enthusiasts a little unsure of where they stand. Matthew Green, an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University who began working on Zcash three years ago, explained some of the motivation behind the cryptocurrency’s birth: “The basic story is that we have been....

ZEC Price Increase Makes ZCash Second-Most Valuable Cryptocurrency

With 418,244 ZEC in circulation right now, the market cap of ZCash becomes all the more impressive. Ever since ZCash as launched, people have been paying close attention to its price. Although its value against Bitcoin has declined, one ZEC is still quite costly. In fact, one can say the price of ZCash is going up slowly but steadily. Zcash Launches in Alpha

In the game of anonymity, cryptocurrency fans have embraced Bitcoin and the blockchain technology which drives it. The technology does record and stamp the transaction, and is placed in the cloud, unlike Zcash, which sees its alpha release. Zcash has coded a decentralized network using a public blockchain. He and his team, a group of cryptologists, computer science and information security academics, have launched the first public alpha release of the world’s best effort to date of untraceable digital money. Wilcox’s Zcash, a “zero-knowledge proof” alternative to bitcoin, publishes its....

Zcash Nears $40 in Ongoing Price Decline

The price of Zcash (ZEC) inched closer to $40 on 15th December, falling to as little as $40.08 during the session, according to data from CoinMarketCap. ZEC tokens have never reached $40 before, so this price level would represent a new low for the digital currency. Zcash has generated significant visibility since its launch, with supporters pointing to its zero-knowledge proofs, called zk-SNARKS, as a means of achieving greater privacy for transactions. ZEC prices surged on their first trading day of 28th October, reaching approximately 3,300 BTC (more than $2 million) on Poloniex.....
