There were nearly 6 million detections of malware capable of stealing data from bitcoin wallets in 2013, according to a new report released by cybersecurity firm Kapersky Labs. MedVault, a proof-of-concept that would allow patients to record medical information on the bitcoin blockchain, won €5,000 in prize money at the Blockchain Hackathon this weekend.
