Bitstamp, one of the oldest bitcoin exchange, has taken a somewhat unique step in offering ordinary investors equity with the aim of raising $1.2 million in return for 2% equity. Bitcoin exchange Bitstamp's ongoing crowdfunding campaign has already netted more than $1.3m in capital, exceeding its goal weeks before the effort is scheduled to end.
