Mining software appears to have cracked Nvidia's Lite Hash Rate algorithm
The exploit reportedly unlocks up to 70% of the original graphic card mining power. The team behind mining software NBMiner claim to have partially cracked Nvidia’s anti-mining limitations.Back in June Nvidia implemented an algorithm called Lite Hash Rate, or LHR, on all graphics cards from its RTX 30 series in an attempt to curb crypto mining. The limiter works on both the BIOS and driver level detecting mining algorithms and drastically reducing its mining power by up to 50% of its original capability. At the time, the company claimed that miners were disrupting its supply chain,....

Nvidia's own software update inadvertently removed the RTX 3060's Ether-mining hash rate limiter. A software update released by Nvidia inadvertently bypassed the Ether (ETH) mining block the firm placed on its own GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. A spokesperson for Nvidia confirmed on Tuesday that the latest 470.05 driver update was mistakenly released with code intended for use only by Nvidia developers, which allowed for the removal of the hash rate limiter.“A developer driver inadvertently included code used for internal development which removes the hash rate limiter on RTX 3060 in some....
In mid-May 2021, the American multinational technology company Nvidia Corporation revealed that it added a hashrate limiter to curb the use of cryptocurrency mining with its graphics processing units (GPUs). However, crypto miners now say the move was pointless, and the mining organization Nicehash details that the hashrate limiter scheme introduced by Nvidia “did not discourage miners at all.” Nvidia’s Hashrate Limiter Didn’t Stop Crypto Miners From Using the Products Last year Bitcoin.com News reported on Nvidia’s “Lite Hash Rate” (LHR)....
