Dogecoin Does Games Best

Dogecoin Games. Dogecoin was only a newborn pup six months ago. A big congratulations to the Dogecoin community. The coin has come far in this short time. It seems like an eternity. Such is the skewed nature of crypto-time. The space develops at such breakneck speed. It really needs its own calendar. Blink and you'll miss it. At the time of Dogecoin's birth I wrote a tongue-in cheek little piece detailing what Dogecoin would have to do to succeed. This was based on the assumption that Dogecoin would have to follow exactly in Bitcoin's footsteps. In hindsight this was a little misguided.....

How Falcon, FIBRE and the Fast Relay Network Speed Up Bitcoin Block Propagation (Part 2)

Bitcoin is designed as a peer-to-peer network, where nodes randomly connect to other nodes. Transactions and blocks are transmitted over this network by these nodes, until each has received all. This works quite well, as the distributed model makes Bitcoin relatively censorship-resistant; there is no central point of control to shut down or pressure into compliance. But it also has a significant downside: The peer-to-peer network is relatively slow. As such, miners (and pools) sometimes waste hash power mining on top of an old block while a newer block is finding its way through the....

Dogecoin to Allow Litecoin Merge Mining in Network Security Bid

The dogecoin development team has announced that it will soon enable auxiliary proof-of-work (AuxPoW), allowing merge-mining with litecoin that will address concerns over the altcoin's future. AuxPoW enables the dogecoin block chain to receive work from other scrypt-based networks. Dogecoin miners will still be able to generate blocks and receive DOGE, but now, litecoin miners will contribute hashing power to the dogecoin network. The move, announced on the dogecoin subreddit, follows a months-long period of community debate focusing on the question of long-term viability in the dogecoin....

Dogecoin Price Affected by Bitcoin's Downturn

Bitcoin experienced an incredible bullish outbreak over the last few days. However, despite BTC/USD's incredible gains over the last few days the dogecoin price didn't experience gains to this extent, despite a small increase in the volume. The increase in the trading volume wasn't really significant, though. It was indeed higher from the time that the entire market was stagnant and BTC/USD reached the low of $215. However, today's trading volume of ~$140k isn't something new to dogecoin. While all the bullish activity in the bitcoin market did have a mild effect on the dogecoin price, it....
