Alpha Technology may be facing Possible Fraud Investigation
Alpha Technologies the Manchester based ASIC Company may be facing a possible police investigation following information being reviewed by the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) which found sufficient viable lines of enquiry. To be honest as an Alpha Technology pre-order costumer myself, I’m delighted to hear this news confirmed. My own personal story began with them in January of 2014; I had just got into mining a few months before with a very reliable purchase from Bitmain. “As we will not be spending more time on non-essential components, and as a result also require less final....

British mining equipment maker Alpha Technology has been investigated by police in Manchester, following complaints lodged against it with the national fraud and cybercrime centre, ActionFraud. Those reports were assessed by the national fraud intelligence unit and passed on to Greater Manchester Police (GMP). The Economic Crime Unit....
It has now been over two years now since I and thousands of others around the world pre-ordered the Viper ASIC Scrypt miners from the Manchester, UK based Alpha Technology. No-one has yet received a miner, refund or an update of the fraud investigation from Greater Manchester Police. This is something that is baffling many in the industry as they still haven’t even a finished product to ship on a promise gave in May 2014 that they would begin dispatching the miners in July 2014 by the director Mohammed Akram. This date has moved continuously throughout 2014/15 and now into 2016 with....
Alpha Technology was working towards shipping their Viper units by the end of July, but due to technical issues, they had to go through a second-tape-out process, thus delaying the shipments. They waited until July 28th to tell customers about this little surprise, distancing themselves from their claim of being transparent. Their news even went so far as to "remind" all of their customers that they upgraded their devices from 25MH/s to 250MH/s back in May. Even though PayPal did what PayPal does best, and locked Alpha Technology's funds, Alpha Technology was still able to fund the second....
Andrew Laurus contacted CoinDesk to say that, as of 21st December, he surrendered his shares in Alpha Technology Ltd and is no longer a shareholder, nor has any role or connection to the company. Manchester-based mining outfit Alpha Technology has missed its July delivery target, stating that technical problems and a dispute with PayPal have caused delays. Alpha Technology, which began taking pre-orders for its ASIC miners in January this year, now says it aims to deliver by September. "We may have perhaps overpromised," Alpha Technology's 23-year-old managing director Mohammed Akram wrote....
Alpha Technology has announced and opened pre-orders last November 2013 their first Batch of Scrypt Asics. Since then the company has been announcing that this first batch would be delivered until themiddle of 2014, early July. Many costumers have made their pre order along with payment and haven’t seen any equipment yet. Alpha Technology led customers to believe they were still shipping in July for weeks and there is still no proof whatsoever that the equipment is being produced. This has spread some discomfort to the majority of the investors and many are already demanding refunds. It....
