Alpha Technology was working towards shipping their Viper units by the end of July, but due to technical issues, they had to go through a second-tape-out process, thus delaying the shipments. They waited until July 28th to tell customers about this little surprise, distancing themselves from their claim of being transparent. Their news even went so far as to "remind" all of their customers that they upgraded their devices from 25MH/s to 250MH/s back in May. Alpha Technology has a new development update and its Viper scrypt board seems to be making headway. The British ASIC maker said it has completed the schematics for the ATX power distribution board and of the AC power metering board. Alpha Technology has announced and opened pre-orders last November 2013 their first Batch of Scrypt Asics. Since then the company has been announcing that this first batch would be delivered until themiddle of 2014, early July. Many costumers have made their pre order along with payment and haven’t seen any equipment yet. Alpha Technology led customers to believe they were still shipping in July for weeks and there is still no proof whatsoever that the equipment is being produced. British mining equipment maker Alpha Technology has been investigated by police in Manchester, following complaints lodged against it with the national fraud and cybercrime centre, ActionFraud.
