KnC Partners With Chicago Sun-Times to Launch New Bitcoin Wallet

KnC, the most-trusted brand in Bitcoin mining, has released a consumer-facing product. The first digital wallet to integrate seamlessly with your phone contacts, KnC Wallet is an easy and secure way for anyone to try Bitcoins. As part of a special launch promotion, the first 96,000 downloads of the free Android app are pre-funded with Bitcoins to spend. More information can be found at kncwallet.com.

To highlight the launch of their new product, KnC partnered with Sun-Times Media to educate a larger population about the basics of Bitcoin. As part of this relationship, KnC has wrapped today’s Chicago Sun-Times newspaper and placed an ad in this week’s Chicago Reader with sponsored content titled “Bitcoin for Beginners.” The content from this four-page wrap can also be found online at suntimes.com/knc.

Sam Cole, co-founder of KnC, said this move was part of the company’s effort to educate a wider audience about the possibilities of Bitcoin:

“KnC wants to share information about this evolving technology with the public. Most people don’t understand what exactly Bitcoin is or how they could benefit from using KnC Wallet in their daily life. We’re trying to change that,” Cole said.

Having already tested a Bitcoin paywall through Bitwall on Feb. 1, 2014, the Chicago Sun-Times was a natural fit to partner with KnC in this venture. Josh Metnick, Wrapports’ Chief Technology Officer, said the Sun-Times makes it a priority to stay up to date with cutting edge technology.

“As a media company in today’s environment, it’s crucial for us to stay engaged with new forms of commerce like Bitcoin. Our initial Bitwall experiment proved successful, and we are going to keep pushing the boundaries across all types of technologies,” Metnick said.
