BitPay Brings Bitcoin to SXSW
Music and Bitcoin will collide starting March 9 at one of the largest music, film and trade festivals across the nation, SXSW. BitPay, the world leader in business solutions for virtual currencies, will exhibit at SXSW interactive to answer questions about Bitcoin and merchant services.
“BitPay’s involvement in SXSW will give valuable insight into the future of payments and will allow us to provide an interactive and in-person bitcoin experience,” stated Stephanie Wargo, VP of Marketing at BitPay. “We are very excited to be part of the festival.”
BitPay co-founder and CEO Tony Gallippi will be speaking at the event on Saturday, March 8 in a panel discussion entitled “Bitcoin and Math Based Currencies: The Road to $100 Billion.” The panel will touch on regulatory issues, network effects, how to build customer trust, the transition to a market dominated by merchants and consumers, the driving force behind mass market adoption and predictions for growth.
Gallippi will also speak on Monday, March 10 in a panel moderated by Yahoo Finance's Aaron Task and NASDAQ's Bob McCooey titled “The Future of Money.” This panel will be a conversation about virtual currencies and the real world economic challenges they’re trying to solve.
BitPay’s booth is number 1417 at SXSW Interactive, the trade show which runs March 9 to 12 at the Austin Convention Center. The SXSW film festival is held March 7 to 15, and the SXSW music festival takes place March 11 to 16.
The large festival actively blends all aspects of entertainment and business. From this, BitPay will be able to continue to expand individual knowledge of Bitcoin across many industries and platforms.
Before SXSW, Gallippi will also be speaking at the Texas Bitcoin Conference on Thursday March 6 held at Circuit of the Americas, Technology and Conference Center. The Texas Bitcoin Conference is held by The Texas Bitcoin Association (TBA) a company formed by Texas Bitcoin enthusiasts for the purpose of educating the public about Bitcoin.
