New Startup DECENT Aims to Liberate Media Using Blockchain Technology

DECENT is currently developing a new independent web 3.0 platform for creative people, authors, bloggers, publicists and their fans and followers allowing borderless publishing of any content. The platform is dedicated to the freedom of speech.

It is served by the P2P network and secured by cryptographic and blockchain technology. DECENT is not dependent on any single server. With no single point of failure the access to the information is boundless. In order to keep control over the growing amount of content, the consumer can use rating & recommendation engines. These engines will utilize information stored in the blockchain and use clever machine learning algorithms to select the right content for the right person.

One of the founders Matej Michalko who is currently attending the Wired Money Conference in London said: “DECENT is not controlled by any third parties, not even the creators. The platform is owned directly by its users and will never be affiliated with any economic, media or political party.”

The other founder Matej Boda who is on his way to the US to attend several tech events and Meetups from Chicago to California pointed out: “Our spamfree mechanism makes the extensive publishing very expensive for spammers, while keeping the resources available for legitimate authors.”

DECENT is a Geneva based foundation with teams spread around the globe with offices in Switzerland and Slovakia; collaborators in Ukraine, Luxembourg, Shanghai and Australia. The company secured a €500k funding from Element Capital LLC, a US Chinese Fund. DECENT is currently launching. The focus is on the development as the presale commences this fall.
