Web payments service OKPAY has announced that it will allow users to move pound sterling (GBP) into OKPAY web-based wallet accounts and then transfer these funds to cryptocurrency exchanges. Rumours of the policy change by the merchant and consumer payment provider first surfaced on reddit and Bitcoin Talk after customers received emails. OKPay - the payment-processing company - has told customers it will stop processing bitcoin transactions. Providing customers with no more than a one-lined statement that reads: "Dear customers, we are currently suspending bitcoin processing," OKPay has left its partners and customers confused about what lies behind the decision. It would appear as if financial services company OKPay is imposing restrictions on users who may wish to buy bitcoin using GBP transfers. A screenshot account fund page was submitted to social sharing website Reddit Thursday showing a checkbox with the text "I hereby confirm that will not use the funds for purchasing or exchanging crypto-currencies. One year and two months after heralding "the ultimate integration of bitcoin" into their system, the ecommerce company OKPAY has announced that it is suspending its "complete Bitcoin integration."
