Blockchain.info has been offering Bitcoin wallet and block explorer services since 2011. Reddit user 1a5f9842524 posted on /r/bitcoin detailing Blockchain.info's response to what was stated by the user as a "critical vulnerability." The user specifically called outAndreas Antonopoulos, who has been viewed as a consistently positive figure in the Bitcoin community and a figure-head of sorts, though the user chose to paint this development as an antithesis to that persona. Our friends over at CoinDesk have today published an interesting piece surrounding Blockchain.info. The website, in short, is a great resource even if you're new to the community - allowing visitors to view the block chain (transaction ledger) easily and also create and use a bitcoin wallet. No surprise, but the website is the number one bitcoin-related website in the whole of the Internet. The short article comes as somewhat of a correction and follow-up to a news report we published at the start of the month. Therein, we had reported that Blockchain.info web wallet users had transacted just over three billion dollars worth of bitcoin. We didn't just pull the information from thin air, though. It came from the site's own counter at blockchain.info/wallet (which we recognize is probably not an exact reflection of true figures but supplies an accurate projection). CoinDesk spoke to Nicolas and Ben of Blockchain.info about it being the #1 bitcoin site, how it will remain so into the future, why its users trust it so much and how online wallets need to be easy to use as well as secure. The folks over at Blockchain.info have acquired bitcoin price application ZeroBlock (LLC), as noted in an announcement this Christmas Eve. The mobile application (available on both Android and iOS) provides the end user with the latest news, price quotes, and more.
